Habitar el Silencio Permanent construction — 2025–ongoing

My great-grandfather designed the portico of Valparaíso's Cemetery No. 1 — a stone threshold that, without my knowing it, has framed the way I see. He carried forms and concepts from Europe that settled into the Chilean landscape; today I inherit that architectural gaze, that need for structure, that silence. Habitar el Silencio follows the body through the territories that shaped it — desert, water, stone — toward the European origin of those structures. It is the body, not the landscape, that ultimately evidences what that contact produces. This project is under permanent construction, built chapter by chapter as the research unfolds.
